Our class fees include weekly training in acting, singing and dance, exciting performance opportunities and a fun, supportive environment where children and young people can build confidence, creativity and performance skills.
We offer Saturday classes in Hellesdon, after-school classes in Cringleford and weekly Theatretrain Express classes in Wymondham, with options for children and young people aged 4–18.
How Much Do Theatretrain Norwich Classes Cost?
Main Company: Saturdays 10am - 1pm (6-18 year olds)
How it works:
Our Main Company sessions run weekly during term time and are three hours long. Most families choose our monthly subscription, which spreads the cost evenly across the year at £83 per month by Direct Debit – no need to calculate term lengths or remember payment dates.
Alternatively, you can pay a termly fee in full by card or BACS at the start of each term.
Discounts
Siblings receive a 50% discount on tuition, so the youngest sibling pays just £41.50 per month by Direct Debit, or half the termly fee.
Families receiving Universal Credit also receive a 50% discount on tuition fees, with proof of eligibility.
Junior Company: Theatretrain Minis (4-5 year olds) on Saturdays 9am - 10.30am
How it works:
Theatretrain MINIS is our weekly 90-minute class specially designed for children aged 4–5, giving them a fun and friendly introduction to singing, dancing and acting. From age 6, children can progress into our Main Company if they would like to continue their Theatretrain journey.
Fees can be paid by monthly Direct Debit at £50 per month, which spreads the cost evenly across the year, or you can choose to pay for each term in full at £15 per weekly session.

What’s included?
Every Theatretrain class includes acting, singing and dance, with sessions designed to develop performance skills, confidence, creativity and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.
Our students learn through practical activities including drama and character work, vocal exercises and songs, dance routines and choreography, with the content adapted to suit the age and format of each class.
Theatretrain’s training programme was developed by founder and Artistic Director Kevin Dowsett, drawing on decades of experience working with young performers.
Rather than focusing primarily on exams and competitions, Theatretrain places performance and ensemble work at the heart of its training. Students learn how to work together as a company, develop their individual skills and put what they learn into practice through performance opportunities.
Are there any additional costs?
Registration Fee & Uniform
There is a one-off £20 registration fee when your child joins Theatretrain.
Students are required to wear a Theatretrain T-shirt as part of their usual uniform, which can be worn with their own black bottoms and suitable black footwear.

Shows & Performances
Performance is an important part of Theatretrain, and students have opportunities to take part in shows, showcases and other performance experiences throughout the year.
Every other year, our Main Company also has the opportunity to take part in Theatretrain’s large-scale national production. Previous Theatretrain productions have taken place at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.
Some performances involve additional costs, particularly our large-scale national productions. These can vary depending on the production, but additional costs may include:
- Costumes
- Coach travel
- Rehearsal materials
- Professional photos and video
- Audience tickets

Are holidays and absences deducted from the cost?
No. Our fees are calculated across the full Theatretrain programme, so school holidays and individual absences are not deducted from the cost.
If you pay by monthly Direct Debit, the total cost is spread evenly across the year, which is why payments continue during school holidays even when classes are not running.
Can my child try Theatretrain before joining?
Yes! We offer a 2-for-1 taster so your child can attend two consecutive classes for the price of one before deciding whether they would like to join us regularly.
Tasters are available for our Main Company and MINIS classes in Hellesdon, as well as our Theatretrain Express classes in Cringleford and Wymondham. It’s a great opportunity to meet the group, join in with acting, singing and dancing and experience Theatretrain for themselves.
How much notice do I need to give if my child leaves Theatretrain?
We require four weeks’ written notice if your child will be leaving Theatretrain. Fees remain payable during the four-week notice period. If you have paid for the term in advance, any credit due after the notice period has ended will be refunded or left as credit on your Theatretrain account.
