Isle of Wight Students Dazzle at the Royal Albert Hall

We're gonna change the world!

On 21st September 2025, our talented students from Theatretrain Isle of Wight had the unforgettable experience of performing at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall. They took part in We’re Gonna Change the World – a spectacular national production exploring the changes young people want to see in today’s society.

Our Isle of Wight performers were on stage for almost the entire show, showing incredible stamina and passion. From their powerful dance numbers and moving choir performances, to their expressive acting piece, they held the stage with confidence and energy. The sell-out audience were so impressed that the evening ended in a prolonged standing ovation.

A Triumph of Teamwork & Talent

Theatretrain’s Artistic Director, Kevin Dowsett, described the show as:

“A triumph! Performed to a sell-out audience, the show ended in a prolonged standing ovation – a real testament to the energy, teamwork, and talent of everyone involved. This show wasn’t just entertainment – it was a celebration of growth, imagination, and the Theatretrain spirit.”

He reflected on many of the night’s standout moments, including Surface Pressure, Born This Way, Fragile, Trouble in the Water, and the emotional finale The Climb – capturing the show’s central message of unity, hope, and the power of young people to change the world.

A Moment of Pride

Company Director Julie Caudle added:

“I am so proud of our students. To see them perform at such an iconic venue, with such professionalism and confidence, was inspiring. They rose to the challenge brilliantly and gave a performance they’ll never forget.”

What’s Next for Theatretrain Isle of Wight?

Amazingly, our students achieved all this while also rehearsing for their upcoming production of Kinky Boots, which takes to the stage at Shanklin Theatre on 29 & 30 November 2025.

Following the success of past productions such as Footloose, Elf, and We Will Rock You, this year’s show promises to be our biggest and best yet.

We are beyond proud of our students for everything they’ve accomplished and cannot wait to see them take on the next challenge!
