After months of rehearsals, dedication and determination, the curtain has fallen on Theatretrain Isle of Wight’s production of Disney’s Frozen – and we couldn’t be prouder of every young performer who took to the stage.
From our youngest cast members making their debut, to our experienced performers leading the story of Anna and Elsa, every member of the company played an important role in bringing Arendelle to life. Their commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm shone through in every rehearsal and every performance.
The production has since received fantastic reviews, with critics praising not only the principal cast but the standard of the production as a whole.
IW Theatre highlighted the commitment of the entire company, writing:
"It was so pleasing to see such commitment to the dance routines and focused acting throughout the performance from all of the supporting cast – well done!"
The review also recognised the performances of our youngest leading performers, Elsie-Marie Moody and Ffion Gibson, describing their opening performances as Young Anna and Young Elsa as:
"Energetic performances full of fizz and vim... with chirpy vocals and zippy dialogue."
The praise continued throughout the review, with Charlotte Jenkins’ Anna described as a “truly authentic performance”, while Lilly Valvona’s Elsa was praised for her “powerful and emotive singing”, with the reviewer commenting that the pair “delivered in bucket loads.”
It was wonderful to see so many of our performers recognised individually, including Roscoe Lloyd, Harriet Jenkins, Hayden Stanford, Lydia Jones, Mason Goldring, Millie Seal, Poppy Mannix, Macy Head, Emily Ainsworth and Arlo Marsh, while the review also applauded the production’s technical elements, choreography and staging.
Perhaps the most rewarding comments, however, came in the review’s closing words, describing the finale as:
"...a fitting testament to the level of teamwork that has gone into this production... all have clearly pulled together to bring this iconic tale to life in a wonderfully warm and genuine production."
Those words perfectly capture what Theatretrain is all about. While we’re incredibly proud of the performances seen on stage, we’re equally proud of the confidence, resilience, friendships and teamwork that have developed behind the scenes throughout the rehearsal process.
To every member of our cast, creative team, backstage crew, volunteers, families and everyone who came to support the production—thank you. Frozen was a truly magical experience, and one we’ll remember for a very long time.
