All of our sessions at Theatretrain Newark are led by professionals in an inclusive, group-based environment. We want your child to have FUN while they learn from some of the best in the industry, immersed in an impressive and enjoyable performance programme.
Theatretrain Newark Sessions
Our weekly sessions take place at the Newark Academy on London Road, covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.
Main Company
- The Newark Academy, London Road, Nottinghamshire, NG24 3AL
- 6-18 year olds
- Saturdays, 10am to 1pm
- £21 per session (£12 Per Sibling)
- Performers are divided into the following age groups: 6-9-year-olds, 9-12-year-olds, and 13-18-year-olds
These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! The sessions become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.
Junior Ensemble: Minis

- 4-5 year olds
- Saturdays, 0830am to 10am
- £13 per session
These 90 minute sessions bring all three disciplines in, separated into three 30 minute sessions. These sessions allow the children to develop basic skills in all three classes and set them up for if they would like to eventually join the main company.

Dance
Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.

Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

What Sessions Do You Offer At Theatretrain Newark?
Our Main Company sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance.
Our minis session is a smaller version of our main session aimed at ages 4-5.
What is the age range for Theatretrain?
At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years.
We are will be offering TT minis in the new year for age 4-5. This will be on a Saturday at 0830am to 10am.
Do you have to audition to join Theatretrain?
No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.
What Days And Times Are Sessions?
Our sessions are on Saturdays in term time from 10am-1pm.
Our minis sessions will be Saturdays at 0830am to 10am in term time.
Neither class breaks for half term.
How much do Theatretrain sessions cost?
Our Main Company session costs £21 for three hours, with a 50% sibling discount available. This can be paid termly or with a monthly direct debit.
Our minis sessions are £13 per sessions and this can be paid termly or with a monthly direct debit.
