About Theatretrain Newark

Building Confidence & Training The Next Generation Of Performers…

Libby-and-Jenny

Hi, We're Libby Eve and Jennifer

Hi, we’re Libby Eve and Jennifer, mother and daughter! We’re the Company Directors here at Theatretrain Newark, where our job is to ensure your children are enjoying their professional theatre training in a fun and creative way.

I (Libby Eve) am a performer across various fields of the industry and have a passion and flare for teaching and coaching children and young people in the performing arts. I studied at Guildford School of Acting where I received a Masters in Musical Theatre.

And I (Jennifer) have always loved theatre and in more recent years started to work with children. As a bookkeeper I will be running the business side of things, whilst Libby Eve works on the creative elements.

Learn Genuine Theatre Principles While You Make Friends At Theatretrain Newark

The Theatretrain Way puts theatre back into the performing arts. Along with technical performance skills in acting, singing and dancing, young people get the chance to release their creativity in a safe and friendly place. Here, in an environment nurturing confidence and empathy, our students can expand to be more than they ever thought they could be. Our aim isn’t just to create better performers, but to help your children reach their full potential.

Alice

Director of Acting

I’m a passionate and versatile music and theatre professional with a Master’s in Education, a Music and Theatre degree (specialising in Musical Theatre), and a PGCE. My journey began with classical training at Chetham’s School of Music, continued at the Sydney Conservatorium, and was enriched through working with Opera Australia in Sydney. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of performing in productions such as CatsPhantom of the Opera, and a wide variety of musical theatre shows. I’ve also worked as a Music Director on vibrant, high-energy productions including ChicagoWe Will Rock You, and Elf.

Alongside performing, I’m deeply passionate about education. I strive to create an engaging, supportive, and fun learning environment where students feel inspired to grow in confidence and creativity. Whether I’m teaching, directing, or performing, I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for the arts to everything I do.

Libby Eve

Musical Director

Me Again! As well as being Centre Director I am Theatretrain Newark’s Musical Director.

Throughout my childhood and teens I was part of a theatre group much like Theatretrain, this gave me a lot of confidence and basic skills to then go on and train in different styles of dance and classical singing. I completed a masters in musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting, where I trained in singing, acting, ballet, tap and jazz.

I have done various amateur pieces across the years, at Newark Operatic Society and then whilst I did my history degree, I am currently auditioning for short films and musicals, having recently acted in a BBC Panorama documentary!

I love to teach because I love working with people of different ages and seeing everyone’s different skills. It’s super cheesy but I also love what other people can teach me when in a learning environment!

Brooke

Choreographer

Hi, I’m Brooke and I teach dance at Theatretrain Newark. I started dancing when I was five years old. I participated in various dance shows throughout the years. At the age of 17 I left my dance school to pursue my passion further for dance and musical theatre on a professional level. I started a BTEC at Addict Dance Academy for two years and then re-auditioned to spend another three years there to complete their university course, recently graduating with a first class honours in Musical Theatre. The sole reason I love to teach is that I believe there’s nothing more rewarding in life than passing down my experience and knowledge that I’ve gained within my professional training. Teaching these students each week brings me such joy as they work so hard to improve and come back better and stronger. They have the attitude to keep an open mind as they stay focused on their individual goals and dreams and strive for success.
