Over the past 30 years Theatretrain has put young peoples’ performances first, pioneered by the lifelong achievements of our Artistic Director and Founder, Kevin Dowsett, who has taught a generation of actors including Kelly Brook and Catherine Tate and Denise Gough.
Our Performing Arts Sessions In Newark
Our theatre sessions take place at The Newark Academy on London Road. Our training is fun, engaging and enjoyed by children of all ages.
Main Company (Ages 6-18)
Develop Lifelong Theatrical & Performance Skills The Fun Way
Sessions are divided into the following age groups: 6-9-year-olds, 9-12-year-olds and 13-18-year-olds. They also act as rehearsals for performances later in the year.
- The Newark Academy, London Road, Nottinghamshire, NG24 3AL
- 6-18 year olds
- Saturdays, 10am to 1pm
- £21 per session (Sibling Rate £12 per session)
Junior Ensemble: Minis (Ages 4-5)
Everybody has to start somewhere…
These 90 minute sessions cover all three disciplines and teach basic skills of imagination and stage craft. Most importantly, everyone is welcome in this vibrant learning atmosphere.
These classes will begin in the Winter Term in JANUARY.

Answering your Theatretrain Newark FAQs
How much do classes cost?
Theatretrain Newark offers classes for aspiring young stars of all ages. Prices for our Main Company are £21 with a 50% sibling discount available. This can be paid termly or with a monthly direct debit.
Our minis class will be £13 per session and this will also be able to be paid either termly or in a direct debit.
My child is quite shy, will your classes help?
The most resounding feedback we receive from parents with children at Theatretrain Newark is that they can’t believe how confident their child has become after their classes. We encourage diverse expression and have created a friendly, welcoming space your child can flourish in.
