What happens at a trial session at Theatretrain Stevenage
When you arrive
When you arrive at Marriotts School and have located our entrance (instructions sent via email prior to arrival) you will be greeted by myself, Centre Director. I will welcome you, find out a bit about you and explain how the day will go.
So how will the session run?
At 1.30 we call each group forward and let them know which class they are going to, either dance, drama or singing. New students are always buddied up with an existing student who will make sure they don’t get lost when changing classes, they show them where the toilets are and generally make them feel welcome.
Throughout the afternoon I am around, I like to have a nosy in the classes to see what’s going on. I pay special attention to our new students, subtly with eye contact and a thumbs up so not to disrupt the session. If at any point our new students are not happy, they only need to indicate with a shake of the head and I can bring them out and contact the parent. I have been running Theatretrain centres for over 13 years now, this has only happened 2 or 3 times but I do understand Theatretrain is not a good fit for everyone.
At the end of the session, I do like to catch new students/parents at the end just to see if everything is ok, as a busy centre this is not always possible but I do make every effort.
What happens after the session?
After the session I usually send an email on the Monday morning to see how everything went. This gives both new student and parent to discuss over the weekend and make a decision on whether Theatretrain is a good fit or not.
Ok, I'm happy to sign up. What are the next steps?
If you are happy to go ahead, you will be sent an invoice for the terms fees and an invoice for the one off registration fee that includes our uniform. Don’t be frightened by the invoice, we have several payment options so full payment all in one go is not the only option!
What happens if I don't what to sign up?
If Theatretrain is not right for you, no problem, just let us know and we will part company.
