Theatretrain is not for you if…

Dancing, singing and acting is not for everyone and that’s ok. At Theatretrain we are very inclusive and welcome students from all walks of life and all different kinds of abilities.

However, I don’t want you to waste your time. I want you to find an activity that suits you and your child, so I have created a short list of things which may suggest Theatretrain is not right for you and your child

1. Your child has no interest in singing, dancing or acting

We are all about singing, dancing and acting, so if your child is not interested in that, it is not likely they would enjoy  and participate in our classes.

2. Your child has no interest in performing

Performing is at the heart of what we do, we aim to mount at least one professional production and further community events a year. Having said that if your child is shy to start with, they may not be interested in the performance to start with, but once their confidence has grown they may be more open to the idea.

3. You can not afford our classes

I would love to work for free but unfortunately this is a business and helps me put food on my table. I believe our fees are competitive and if you are struggling financially we do offer concession rates. You must remember that Theatretrain is a commitment and I wouldn’t want any family to get in financial distress due to our classes.

4. You only want to attend Saturday classes and you would be unable to commit to the odd Sunday rehearsal or show

Unfortunately most of our shows are on Sundays due to Theatre availability. All our shows the groups work like a machine, if a cog (or a student) is missing, nothing works and the whole thing is a mess.

5. You are not able to attend on a regular basis

Attending on a regular basis is key to your child’s success. Without that you will not see any progress in your child. I do appreciate that some families may split parental responsibilities and if that is the case arrangements can be made, but attending 1 week in every 4 is not acceptable to us and would you still be charged for sessions missed.
