All of our sessions at Theatretrain Royston are led by professionals in an inclusive, group-based environment. We want your child to have FUN while they learn from some of the best in the industry, immersed in an impressive and enjoyable performance programme.
Classes for 6-18 year olds
Our weekly sessions take place at Stage Right Studios on Lumen Road in Royston, covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.
Main Company
These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.

- Performers are grouped by age over three groups.

Main Company: Express
This weekly 1.5 hour session is the ‘express’ version of our 3 hour Friday main school session.

What to expect from your Theatretrain experience…
Dance
Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.
Act
We empower your child to express themselves without judgement, encouraging them to take on characters, tell creative stories and follow their passion for acting.
Sing
We encourage all our students to build their confidence through song, embracing technical and real-world techniques used by singing professionals.
Get real performance experience
At the core, performing arts bring out excitement and emotion in us. We organise large-scale performances, and each year our students have the chance to take part in exciting shows and events, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime. Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

What sessions do you offer at Theatretrain Royston?
Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance.
What is the age range for Theatretrain?
At our Main Company and Express sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-8 years, 9-11 years and 12-18 years.
We also offer Junior Company, with Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds and Tinies sessions for 3-4 year olds.
Do you have to audition to join Theatretrain?
No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.
What days and times are sessions?
Our main sessions are on Fridays in term time from 4-7pm.
We also offer Junior Company: Minis sessions, which take place in term time on Wednesdays 4:30-6pm and Friday 3:45-5:15pm
Our Junior Company: Tinies sessions take place Fridays 2-2:45pm
In addition Main Company: Express takes place on Wednesdays, 5:30-7pm
