This promises to be an unforgettable day of singing, dancing and acting as Theatretrain Brentwood welcomes West End leading lady Joanne Clifton for an exclusive West End Workshop on Wednesday 26th August 2026.
Known to millions from Strictly Come Dancing and celebrated for her starring roles in Shrek The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Flashdance, Hairspray and The Addams Family, Joanne will be sharing her professional experience, performance techniques and insider knowledge from a career at the very top of the industry.
Throughout the day, students will work in age-appropriate groups, learning authentic West End choreography and performance skills inspired by some of the shows that have defined Joanne’s career.

Performers are split into the following age groups:
6-9 year-olds, 10-12 year-olds, and 13-18 year-olds.
These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.
Junior Ensemble: Minis

Every dream starts somewhere… In these 90-minute sessions our young performers cover all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of imagination and stagecraft. Most importantly, we make sure everyone feels comfortable, creating a vibrant atmosphere to learn in!

Dance
Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.

Act

We encourage all our students to build their confidence through song, embracing technical and real-world techniques used by singing professionals.

What Sessions Do You Offer At Theatretrain Brentwood?
Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance.
What is the age range for Theatretrain?
At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years.
We also offer Junior Ensemble, with TT Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds
Do you have to audition to join Theatretrain?
No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.
What Days And Times Are Sessions?
Our main sessions are on Saturdays in term time from 10.00am – 1.00pm
We also offer Junior Ensemble: TT Minis sessions, which take place on Saturdays in term time from 9.00am – 10.30am
How much do Theatretrain sessions cost?
Our Main Company session costs £25.00 for three hours.
Junior Ensemble: £12.50 for a 90-minute session.
