All of our sessions at Theatretrain Bedford are led by professionals in an inclusive, group-based environment. We want your child to have FUN while they learn from some of the best in the industry, immersed in an impressive and enjoyable performance programme.

Our weekly sessions take place at St Marks Church Halls, Brickhill, Bedford, MK41 7UY, covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.

Main Company

These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.

Junior Ensemble: Minis

Every dream starts somewhere… In these 75-minute sessions our young performers cover all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of imagination and stagecraft. Most importantly, we make sure everyone feels comfortable, creating a vibrant atmosphere to learn in!

Summer Musical Theatre Workshop
3 day Experience - School's out for Summer!

Get ready for three days of high-energy fun at our Musical Theatre Summer Workshop, where the theme is “School’s Out for Summer!” Packed with songs, scenes, and creativity inspired by hit shows like Matilda, School of Rock, High School Musical, and Mean Girls, this workshop is perfect for young performers aged 6–16. Running from 10am–3pm, each day builds confidence, teamwork, and stage skills in a lively, supportive environment. Even better, book all three days together and enjoy a special discounted rate—making it the perfect summer treat for aspiring stars!

22nd July -Day 1: Finding Your Voice (Matilda, School of Rock, High School Musical)
A confidence-building day focused on self-expression and individuality. Students will explore character through Matilda, learn ensemble singing and rhythm with School of Rock, and finish with upbeat choreography inspired by High School Musical. The day centres on “being yourself,” with fun drama games, vocal warm-ups, and a mini performance sharing at the end.

23rd July – Day 2: Drama, Friendship & Fierce Energy (Mean Girls, High School Musical, Matilda)
This day dives into storytelling, relationships, and stage presence. Using scenes and songs from Mean Girls, students explore character dynamics and confidence, paired with teamwork and group numbers from High School Musical. Elements of Matilda bring playful acting and humour into the mix. Expect lots of acting exercises, expressive movement, and bold performances.

24th July – Day 3: Rock the Stage (School of Rock, Mean Girls, High School Musical)
A high-energy finale all about performance and putting it all together. Students will channel rockstar confidence with School of Rock, add attitude and style from Mean Girls, and rehearse a final showcase piece inspired by High School Musical. The focus is on stage presence, teamwork, and performance skills, ending with a fun informal show for friends/family.

Summer Musical Theatre Workshop
3 day Experience - School's out for Summer!

Join us for a magical three days at our Musical Theatre Summer Workshops, specially designed for ages 4–6 and bursting with fun, creativity, and imagination! Inspired by favourites like Frozen, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Stitch, each session is packed with singing, movement, and playful storytelling. 

Running from 10am–12pm, these workshops are the perfect introduction to performing arts in a joyful and supportive setting. Book all three days together to enjoy a special discounted rate and give your little star the full experience!

Day 1: Magic & Adventure (Frozen + Stitch)
A playful, imaginative day full of storytelling and movement. Children will explore the magical world of Frozen through songs, simple choreography, and character play, alongside the fun and friendship themes of Stitch. Expect lots of creative games, expressive movement, and building confidence through role-play and group performance.

Day 2: Pop Stars & Confidence (K-Pop Demon Hunters + Frozen)
This day brings high-energy performance and sparkle! Children will learn fun, age-appropriate K-pop inspired dance routines from K-Pop Demon Hunters, combined with the storytelling and musical moments of Frozen. The focus is on confidence, rhythm, and performing together as a team.

Day 3: Fun, Friendship & Energy (Stitch + K-Pop Demon Hunters)
A lively final day packed with energy and personality. Kids will explore the playful world of Stitch through acting and movement, alongside upbeat dance and performance inspired by K-Pop Demon Hunters. The day builds towards a mini sharing, celebrating everything they’ve learned with lots of smiles and enthusiasm.

Each day is designed to feel fresh and exciting, combining creativity, movement, and music in a supportive and fun environment.

We organise large-scale performances, and each year our students have the chance to take part in exciting shows and events, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime. Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

Answering your Theatretrain Bedford FAQs

Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance. 

At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years. 

We also offer Junior Ensemble, with TT Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds and TT Tinies for 3-4 year olds.

No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.

Our main sessions are on Saturdays in term time from 10am-1pm.

 Junior Ensemble: TT Minis sessions, which take place on Saturdays in term time from 8.40am – 9.55am and 10.00am – 11.15am

Junior Ensemble: TT Tinies sessions, which take place on Saturdays in term time from 11.30am – 12.00pm

Our Main Company session costs £77 per month.

Junior Ensemble: TT Minis £40 per month.

Junior Ensemble: TT Tinies £23.50 per month
