This is a question I am often asked and I usually reply with another question… is it?
I guess what you have to look at is the cost vs value.
To show you what I mean, I thought I would tell you a story. I’m new to blogging, so please bare with me!
I am a self employed mum of two. I work from home and when I’m not working I’m looking after the kids, home etc. One of my little joys in life is coffee! I could happily sit at home and drink a cup of instant coffee and pretend to take a break, until I notice the washing up hasn’t been done, the next load of washing is ready to go out or I have 6000 emails that all need an answer right now. Next thing you know cold coffee! (Which over the years I have begun to enjoy)
Now if I go out and spend what sometimes feels like a lot of money on a fancy latte, (compared to a cup of instant at home) I get so much more than a cup of coffee.
I get a change of scenery, I can’t do the washing up or the 100 other tasks waiting for me at home. I get a break, a chance to stop and I really value that and I’m happy to spend what sometimes feels like a fortune!

I know what you are thinking
Value and benefits are great but my bills are sky rocketing and I have to think about the reality of how I’m going to pay for all this.
I understand and I’m with you! I’m currently preparing for the big freeze, hot water bottles bought, slipper socks at the ready and extra blankets and jumpers ordered as my heating is not going on unless it snows!
As a parent myself
the last thing I want is for my children to suffer. I want to keep their world as normal and as fulfilled as I can.
So my tip to you is do your research.
There are many activities out there, all offering a similar kind of thing (apart from Theatretrain, we offer lots more value! Obviously!!) Have a look, the prices can be quite a range.
If you are having to be careful where you spend your money, look at what you are going to get out of it.

- check out reviews on Google and Facebook, what are other people saying? (check the date)
- Check out their social media pages, are they active on there?
I think once you have answered these questions you will see that dance classes are not as expensive as you first think.
