Why Having Fun Is Serious Business at Theatretrain

At Theatretrain, fun is the glue that holds everything together.

Why? Because fun:

• Lowers anxiety

• Encourages participation

• Builds trust

• Helps children try new things

• Makes learning stick

When children are laughing, moving, and feeling free to be themselves, they’re far more likely to absorb what we’re teaching – whether that’s teamwork, storytelling, or self-expression.

And let’s be honest: no child has ever begged to go back to a class that made them feel bored, embarrassed, or out of place.

What does fun look like in our sessions?

• A warm-up game where the shyest child suddenly comes alive

• A group making up a wild backstory for a character, just because

• A burst of giggles when someone improvises something hilarious

• Dancing with joy, not just precision

Of course, we work hard. We rehearse. We set goals.

But we enjoy ourselves while doing it. That’s one of our core values and for good reason.
