What is Theatretrain?

Theatretrain is a part-time performing arts school for young people aged 4 to 18, where students can explore and develop their skills in singing, dancing, and acting. But Theatretrain is so much more than just a place to learn these skills – it’s a community where children can grow in confidence, make new friends, and express themselves creatively.Read time: 3mins

Our Mission

Our mission at Theatretrain is to inspire and nurture the creative talents of children, helping them to build life skills that go far beyond the stage. Whether it’s through mastering a difficult dance routine, delivering lines in a play, or hitting the right notes in a song, we help students develop self-discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

At its core, Theatretrain is about empowering children to discover their own potential, build resilience, and express their unique selves in a safe and supportive environment.

Our Classes

Each Theatretrain session is structured to give students a well-rounded experience in the performing arts. Our classes rotate through singing, dancing, and acting, allowing students to explore each discipline and understand how they come together in a performance. This holistic approach helps to create well-rounded performers who can command the stage in any setting.

The emphasis in our classes isn’t just on technical ability – we focus on storytelling, character development, and emotional connection. Theatretrain students are taught to understand the story behind the song, the message in the movement, and the depth of the characters they portray.

A Place for Everyone

One of the things that sets Theatretrain apart is that we welcome students of all abilities. Whether your child has dreams of being on stage or simply wants to try something new, there’s a place for them at Theatretrain. We don’t hold auditions to join because we believe that everyone deserves the chance to grow, learn, and perform. Our ethos is about inclusion, and we take pride in creating a space where every student feels valued and supported.

Unique Opportunities

At Theatretrain, students have the chance to perform on stages most people can only dream of. From local showcases to prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall, our students are given opportunities to take part in productions that are both fun and professionally produced. These performances allow students to experience the thrill of being part of a large-scale production, which builds their confidence and skills on a whole new level.

The Theatretrain Difference

What makes Theatretrain special is the way we combine high-quality training with personal development. We aren’t just teaching students to sing, dance, or act; we are teaching them how to work as part of a team, how to communicate effectively, and how to express themselves. Our students leave each session not only having improved their performance skills but also having gained life skills that will benefit them in school, relationships, and future careers.

Whether your child dreams of being the next West End star or simply wants to build their confidence, Theatretrain is here to help them shine – on stage and in life.
