There’s a feeling you get when you walk into a Theatretrain session.
It’s not loud or flashy.
It’s something gentler, a sense that everyone belongs.
And that’s not by accident.
From the very start, We Are Family has been one of our core values. It’s something we work at, every single week.
What does that look like in real life?
It looks like teachers greeting students by name and knowing when they need a quiet check-in or an extra boost of encouragement.
It looks like children who might not cross paths at school becoming close friends, because here, there’s no pressure to fit a certain mould.
It looks like older students taking younger ones under their wing.
And parents chatting at pick-up, sharing laughs and stories.
It’s the kind of environment where kids feel safe enough to be themselves — and brave enough to grow.
Why does it matter so much?
Because when a child feels they belong, everything changes.
They’re more willing to speak up.
They take more creative risks.
They support others and feel supported in return.
And most importantly – they enjoy coming.
We’re building a community.
One where children feel seen, accepted, and celebrated exactly as they are.
So yes, we sing, we dance, we act. But underneath all of that, we’re doing something even more important:
We’re helping children feel at home.
