Our theatre classes take place at The Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, where our students to come together every Saturday to connect, learn and create in a safe and inspiring environment. Through performing arts, we give children and young adults the tools they need, not just to reach their potential on stage, but also to thrive at school and lay the foundations for their future.

We have done two exchanges with our Maltese friends and look forward to arranging another one in the near future.
Theatretrain Southampton is run by Centre Director Karina Artun. We are part of a large network of Theatretrain Centre’s across the UK, which means we can tap into the network and connect with industry leading experts in the performing arts industry.

Meet Karina, your Centre Director & Dance Teacher
Karina started out as a student at Theatretrain and was inspired by the opportunities that her centre director, Linda, offered her as a child. She wanted to open a centre in order to offer more students the chance to build confidence and gain life skills to help them in all walks of life and has now been running the Southampton centre for over 10 years.
“My favourite show that we have done so far was Fame the musical in 2019. This is because it was the first time our students performed a full length MTI production and also achieved a personal goal of my own which was to have a live orchestra for them. They really rose to the challenge and I was so proud of the whole team!”

Lorna Green
Centre Assistant
Lorna is the backbone of the centre. She looks after the welfare of our students whilst they are attending the classes and helps to settle in new students. She’s also nifty with a glue gun when it comes to making props for show time!

Tasha Cope
Singing Teacher
Tasha has been teaching for Theatretrain for a year now and has been really fine tuning our student’s technique. She has a wealth of performing experience herself and her classes are warm and friendly which means that more and more of our students are feeling confident to sing their first solos!

TBC for Autumn 22
Drama Teacher
We have someone new coming on board who is very excited to meet our students! We’ll be introducing them to you very soon!
