Our Performing Arts Classes on the Isle of Wight

All of our sessions at Theatretrain Isle of Wight are led by professionals in an inclusive, group-based environment. We want your child to have FUN while they learn from some of the best in the industry, immersed in an impressive and enjoyable performance programme.

Theatretrain Isle of Wight Sessions

Our weekly sessions take place at Oakfield School, covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.

You will also find any planned workshops & summer schools below – These are open to both Theatretrain and Non-Theatretrain performers.

Main Company

These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.

Every dream starts somewhere… In these 90-minute sessions our young performers cover all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of imagination and stagecraft. Most importantly, we make sure everyone feels comfortable, creating a vibrant atmosphere to learn in!

SUMMER SCHOOL

We know how long the summer feels for both students AND parents! So this summer, join us for FOUR SUPER STAGEY DAYS, as we Sing, Dance & Act our way through some of the West End’s biggest shows!!

4 Days – 4 Musicals – SO MUCH FUN 

 

We will hold a SHOWCASE at the end of the week for family & friends! We will also host an AFTER SHOW PICNIC PARTY for both performers and their family & friends – (weather permitting)

Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.

We organise large-scale performances, and each year our students have the chance to take part in exciting shows and events, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime. Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

Answering your Theatretrain Isle of Wight FAQs

Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance. 

At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years. 

We also offer Junior Ensemble, with TT Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds and TT Tinies sessions for 3-4 years.

No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.

Our main sessions are on Saturdays in term time from 10am-1pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm.

We also offer Junior Ensemble: TT Minis sessions, which take place on Saturdays in term time from 9am-10.30am and TT Tinies Sessions which take place on Saturdays 10.45am-11.30am

Our Main Company session costs £16 for three hours.

Junior Ensemble: TT Minis £8.50 for a 90-minute session.

Junior Ensemble: TT Tinies £6 for a 45-minute session.
