Professional theatre training for children in Bury St Edmunds
Theatretrain Bury St Edmunds welcomes aspiring performers from Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas who want to learn how to take their ideas and feelings and express them through acting, dancing and singing. Students also take in performances locally and nationally.
Theatretrain Bury St Edmunds is more than a drama club!
Theatretrain Bury St Edmunds offers professional theatre training for 4-18 years old in a way that is both fun and effective. More than a drama club, a dance school or a singing group, our performing arts classes give children and young people a place to explore the world and create performances. This process gives them life skills that will help them whether they want a career in the performing arts or the confidence to thrive in the real world. All the world’s a stage after all!
Theatretrain Bury St Edmunds Weekly Classes
Our theatre classes take place at The New Bury Community Centre, 1 Charles Place, Bury St Edmunds. In the Main school the three hour session has an hour each of acting, dancing and singing. So all performers learn the three disciplines and have a lot of fun along the way. Find the session for your age group below.
Classes are divided into the following age groups: 6-9 year olds, 9-12 year olds, and 13-18 year olds. These classes become rehearsals for performances later in the year.
45 minute classes to introduce make believe through words, song and movement.
In 90 minutes our young performers cover all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of imagination and stagecraft.
This weekly 2 hour class is for those performers who want to work with a group on challenging work. Hard work but fun and illuminating.
Be part of something bigger
Theatretrain Bury St Edmunds is part of a UK network of centres who have the same approach to the performing arts. This community comes together to do something unique – large scale performances in venues like the Royal Albert Hall. Our ex students and Patrons know how transformational this working together can be. Theatretrain has a huge store of unparalleled activity and constantly evolves its work.
Theatre is a great place to ask the question… what if?
