So here’s what actually happens… and just as importantly, what doesn’t.
A taster isn’t a sales pitch… it’s a real Saturday.

What a Taster Actually Includes
A Real Theatretrain Saturday
Your child joins a real Theatretrain Saturday, same time and place as our regular sessions with the genuine atmosphere they’d actually experience if they joined.
All Three Classes
Your child takes part in singing, dance and drama, just like our regular students do. That means by the end of the session, you’re not guessing what Theatretrain is like… you’re getting a proper feel for the full experience.
Real Teachers, Real Children
Your child meets the actual team and joins in alongside existing Theatretrain students. This matters, because it gives you a much more honest picture than a staged trial ever could.
A Genuine Chance to See How It Feels
This is your opportunity to properly see how your child responds. Do they enjoy it? Do they settle? Does it feel right? By the end, most parents usually have a far clearer idea than they did before they arrived.
No Pressure Decision
A taster isn’t about forcing a big decision on the spot. You go home, talk it through, and decide what feels right for your child. We’ll follow up afterwards, answer any questions and help if you’d like to take the next step… but the goal is clarity, not pressure.

A few things parents often ask…
Will my child be expected to perform?
No – they’re not arriving to be put on the spot.
A taster is about joining in, getting a feel for things and seeing how it all actually works.
There’s no awkward ‘go on then, impress us’ moment.
What if they’re nervous?
That’s incredibly common.
Lots of children feel nervous trying something new – especially at first.
We’re very used to those first-day wobbles, and often… once children know what’s happening, nerves settle much faster than parents expect.
What if they don’t love it?
That’s okay too.
A taster is there to give you clarity, not pressure.
Sometimes a child absolutely loves it… sometimes you simply learn more about what feels right.
Either way, that’s useful.
