Theatretrain Torbay sessions

Our weekly sessions take place at St Cuthbert Mayne School,  covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.

Main Company

These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.

Dance

Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.

Sing

We encourage all our students to build their confidence through song, embracing technical and real-world techniques used by singing professionals.

At the core, performing arts  bring out excitement and emotion in us. We organise large-scale performances, and each year our students have the chance to take part in exciting shows and events, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime. Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

Every individual is celebrated within our theatre company for being enthusiastic, true to themselves and for overcoming whatever struggles they came to the session with, whether it be shyness or difficulty concentrating. Answering your Theatretrain Torbay FAQs

Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance. 

At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years. 

We also offer Junior Ensemble, with TT Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds 

Our TT Express sessions are for 6-11 year olds

No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.

Our main sessions are on Saturdays in term time from10am-1pm. We also offer Junior Ensemble: TT Minis sessions, which take place on Saturdays in term time from 10.15-11.45

TT Express sessions run Wednesdays in term time 5pm-6.30pm

Our Main Company session costs £25 for three hours.

Junior Ensemble: £15 for a 90-minute session.

TT Express: £25 for a 2.5hr session
