Get to know us

Our theatre classes take place at Barrow Hedges Primary School, Carshalton, SM5 4LA, where our students come together every Saturday to connect, learn and create in a safe and inspiring environment. Through performing arts, we give children and young adults the tools they need, not just to reach their potential on stage, but also to thrive at school and lay the foundations for their future.

About Theatretrain Sutton

Theatretrain Sutton was established in 2007 and is now run by Centre Director Carol Soper, who took over the centre in 2013. Highlights have included: performing Step Into Christmas at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 2014; performing at Disneyland Paris as part of their Christmas shows in 2019; and continuing to run online classes all through the lockdown period.

Theatretrain Sutton Lockdown Challenge

During lockdown we continued our classes online and worked remotely to create some work together. Here is one of those pieces of work.

Meet Carol Soper, your Centre Director

Carol (known by her students and their families as Cas) took over Theatretrain Sutton in 2013. She is a qualified drama teacher of nearly 30 years and has extensive administrative and management experience.

Prior to taking over the running of the school she had been ‘just another Theatretrain parent’, as her daughter attended the school.

She thinks Theatretrain is ‘extra-curricular performing art’s best kept secret!’
