Welcome to
Theatretrain Stevenage!

We’ve put together this handy guide to give you and your child a warm and friendly introduction to what you can expect during your trial session with us.

Our aim is to ensure that both you and your child feel well-prepared and excited about this fantastic opportunity.

We’ll cover everything from the session’s schedule and activities to what you should bring along to make the most of the experience.

What to Expect at your Theatretrain Taster Session

Congratulations on booking your child for a taster session at Theatretrain!

By now, you should have received an invoice for the trial session, as well as some important details about how to locate us and what to have your child wear and bring.

We understand that leaving your child with us is a big step, so we want to provide you with a clear picture of what to expect and introduce you to the friendly faces you’ll encounter. Rest assured, your child will be in capable hands, and we’re here to make this experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for both you and your child.

What happens during a Theatretrain Session?

Theatretrain runs a 3hr session for 6-18yr olds (Main Company) and a 90min session for our 4-5yr olds (Junior Ensemble: Minis)

Our Main Company sessions are taught by 3 specialist creatives.

Dance is taught by our Choreographer

Singing is taught by our Musical Director

Drama is taught by our Director of Acting

Minis is taught by our Junior Company Director with our Junior Company assistant.

Please note: our Minis classes are just for our students, parents can wait in our reception area if necessary. If your child is likely to be anxious, let us know in advance, we are very experienced with anxious children and have many techniques to ensure your child settles nicely into our session.

Take a look around!

We completely understand that trying something new can be a bit nerve-wracking.

That’s why we’ve created this friendly video tour of our classes.

It’s a great way to get a sneak peek and see exactly what things will look like on the big day.

We want to make sure you feel comfortable and excited about your visit, so take a moment to watch and get a feel for our welcoming environment.

What happens next?

At the end of each session, we always make sure to check in with your child to see how they’ve enjoyed their time with us.

Here at Theatretrain, there’s absolutely no pressure to make any decisions on the spot. We want you to have the time to chat with your child and decide if our classes are the perfect fit for you both.

Expect an email from us on Monday, where we’ll ask about your experience and whether you’d like to join our wonderful community.

If you’re ready to dive in, you can register on our parent portal where you can sign up for the term. You can pay for the first term either in full by card, or you can pay in instalments via back. The Direct Debit option will be available for the start of the next term.
