Theatretrain Melodrama Day

This year’s annual Dance and Drama Festival was centred around this year’s theme, Melodrama.

each centre created a 2 minute piece using melodrama. This year’s award went to Theatretrain Newark

especially liked the way they extended their characters, their physicality, their storytelling to something as simple as an orange. It was creative and larger than life, and funny. It’s not always easy to get young people to extend their actions but here everything was huge.’
