Hi, I'm James!
Hi, I’m James! I’m the Company Director here at Theatretrain Portsmouth, where my job is to ensure your children are enjoying their professional theatre training in a fun and creative way.
Following a Law Degree, I trained at Birmingham School of Acting and have since worked internationally as an Actor and Comedian. I am currently performing in the West End as MC in Magic Mike Live.
Other highlights include; The Las Vegas Residency of Potted Potter, for which I won the Best New Act of Las Vegas Award. I have also performed Broadway seasons in New York, Chicago, LA and tours of Australia, Asia, Canada and the USA. Other theatre credits include: Hairspray (USA), The Reduced Shakespeare Company (UK Tour), Julius Caesar (UK Tour), Beauty & The Beast (International), The Importance Of Being Earnest (UK), Ladies in Retirement, Carmilla, Design For Murder (UK Rep Tours) and pantomimes across the UK. I have been featured in several tv commercials including playing Elvis for Virgin Media. As a Comedian, I appeared in the American comedy improv show Throw Me A Line, and was the Resident Comedian on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of The Seas.

Rosie Kingston
Theatre Director
Rosie grew up in the heart of Portsmouth, and found her love for performing at a very young age. She attended Marie Clarke’s school of dance where she was given so many performing opportunities as a kid, including being in the local pantomime every year. After growing up surrounded by dancing, singing and acting Rosie went on to train professionally in Essex at Masters Performing Arts, and then at the International School of Screen Acting in London. Within training Rosie found her biggest passion was in acting, and made this her main focus and drive for her career. Since graduating, Rosie’s credits have included: Claudine in the feature film I Scream On The Beach, Bonnie in the feature film The House That Zombies Built, Rosie in the mockumentary short film Soul Brothers, Sophie in the TV comedy series, Adam and Steve, Emily in the online interactive series, Trylife and a leading role in Pantomime every year at the Bocking Arts Theatre in Braintree, Essex.

Jodie-Kimberley Davies
Musical Director
Jodie is a classically trained soprano with a range of G3-F6. She achieved her LLCM from The London College of Music and her BA(Hons) from The Arden School of Theatre. Jodie started teaching in 2012 and now teaches singing in stage schools, primary schools, high schools and private 1-2-1’s. She also holds a 100% pass rate with her students in singing examinations. As a performer in the industry, Jodie has had the opportunity to play many roles on both stage and screen. Some of her favourites include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Polly Browne in The Boyfriend, Woman 1 in Songs For a New World, Miss Greta Bell in Fame and she has performed at West End Live in Trafalgar Square. She’s also performed with The Welsh National Youth Opera on stage and radio, been in a McDonalds commercial and performed in lots of TV shows and films as a featured artist, walk-on, body double and supporting artist.

Chloe Over
Choreographer
Chloe was born in Portsmouth and has been dancing since the age of 4. She trained for three years at Laine Theatre Arts and graduated in 2013 with a National Diploma in dance and Ballet ISTD teacher training. She has done three cruise contacts with Headliners Theatre Company, preforming on P&O Aurora, Azura and Ventura. She performed in various shows including Astonishing, a magic and illusion show produced by presenter and entertainer Stephen Mulhern and performer Jonathan Wilkes. Other work includes dancing on Costa Cruises and for Vegas Showgirls in Germany, The Alternative Hair Show (Royal Albert Hall) as a dancer/model and she has performed as a showgirl dancer in A Night with Hugh Jackman. She has also appeared in the Clippers tea advert and danced for Olly Murs at the Brit Awards 2012 at the O2 Arena London.

Sophie Dennis
Junior Ensemble Director
Sophie was born and grew up in Portsmouth and has been dancing since the age of 4. Sophie trained at Performers College graduating with a diploma in professional dance as well as her ISTD ballet teaching qualification. Shortly after graduating, Sophie went on to complete two Cruise Contracts with the Headliners Theatre Company where she also trained to be an aerialist. Other work includes pantomime, dancer at the FA cup final at Wembley, touring the country performing at Can you Dance? And performing at various events across the South. With extensive experience working with children, Sophie looks forward to sharing her passion with the students at TheatreTrain.
