Our Theatretrain MINIS classes are specially designed for children aged 4–5, providing a fun, friendly and supportive introduction to the performing arts. Through singing, dancing, acting and creative games, children are encouraged to use their imaginations, express themselves and discover what they can do.
Each week, your little one will have fun while building confidence, developing new skills, making friends and learning to work with others. Our sessions are playful and age-appropriate, giving every child the space to join in at their own pace and enjoy their first steps into the world of performing arts.

Our youngest performers enjoy a fun introduction to singing, dancing and acting in a supportive environment designed especially for children taking their first steps into performing arts.
During each 90-minute session, children get to sing, dance, act, play creative games and use their imaginations while building confidence and learning new skills.
Most importantly, we make sure children feel happy and comfortable, creating a fun and encouraging environment where they can make friends, express themselves and enjoy performing!

Move, Dance & Have Fun
Our MINIS dance activities get children moving, using their imaginations and enjoying music in a fun and encouraging environment.Through simple routines, movement games and creative dance, children develop coordination, rhythm and confidence while learning to express themselves through movement.
Imagine, Play & Create
Acting at MINIS is all about imagination and having fun. Through role play, storytelling, drama games and imaginative activities, children explore different characters and ideas while developing their communication skills, creativity and confidence. There’s no pressure to perform – every child is encouraged to join in at their own pace.
Sing, Smile & Find Your Voice
Our MINIS singing activities introduce children to music and singing in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Through fun songs, musical games and group activities, children develop rhythm, listening skills and confidence using their voices while experiencing the joy of singing together.
The First Step in Their Theatretrain Journey
Theatretrain MINIS is just the beginning!
From age 6, children can progress into our Saturday Main Company, where they continue developing their skills in acting, singing and dance with specialist teachers.
As part of Main Company, students have opportunities to take part in exciting performances, including local shows and large-scale Theatretrain productions at some of the UK’s most iconic venues.
MINIS gives children the confidence, creativity and foundations to take that next step when the time comes – and the video gives you a glimpse of what they could go on to be part of.
Where Their Theatretrain Journey Can Take Them
Theatretrain MINIS is the first step into the wider Theatretrain family. As children grow, they can progress into our Main Company from age 6, where they continue developing their confidence and skills in acting, singing and dance.
Across the UK, Theatretrain students rehearse, perform and create together, with opportunities to be part of exciting productions and shared experiences with other Theatretrain centres. When and where are Theatretrain MINIS classes in Norwich?
Theatretrain MINIS classes in Norwich take place every Saturday morning from 9:00am–10:30am at Hellesdon High School, Norwich.
Our MINIS performing arts classes are specially designed for children aged 4–5 and include singing, dancing and acting in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
Can my little one try Theatretrain MINIS before joining?
Yes! We offer 2-for-1 taster sessions so your child can try the class twice before deciding whether they’d like to join us.
Your child can attend two consecutive classes for the price of one, giving them a proper chance to get to know the class, meet the other children and their teacher and experience acting, singing and dancing with us.
What happens in a Theatretrain MINIS class?
Each Theatretrain MINIS class is packed with singing, dancing, acting and creative games, all specially designed for children aged 4–5.
The sessions are fun and varied, giving children the chance to use their imaginations, learn new skills, make friends and grow in confidence while enjoying their first experience of performing arts!
Can shy or less confident children join Theatretrain MINIS?
Yes, absolutely. Many children are a little shy or unsure when they first join us.
Our Theatretrain MINIS classes are warm, friendly and encouraging, allowing every child to settle in at their own pace.
Through singing, dancing, acting and creative games, we gently help children aged 4–5 build confidence, make friends and feel comfortable expressing themselves, with no pressure to perform before they are ready.
How much do Theatretrain MINIS sessions cost?
Theatretrain MINIS costs £50 per month by Direct Debit, with payments spread evenly across the year.
New children can try MINIS before joining with our 2-for-1 taster offer – two Saturday sessions for just £15 in total.
If your child decides to join Theatretrain MINIS after their taster sessions, there is a one-off £20 registration fee.
What should my child wear and bring to Theatretrain MINIS?
For their first Theatretrain MINIS sessions, children should wear comfortable clothes and suitable footwear that they can move around in easily. There’s no need to buy Theatretrain uniform for a taster session.
Please bring a drink and a small snack for your child to have during the session.
Hellesdon High School is a nut-free site, so please make sure that all snacks are completely nut-free.
