Our theatre classes take place at Hitchin Girls School, Hitchin, where our students to come together every Saturday to connect, learn and create in a safe and inspiring environment. Through the performing arts, we give children and young adults the tools they need, not just to reach their potential on stage, but also to thrive at school and lay the foundations for their future.
About Theatretrain Hitchin
We were established in 1995 and have created a range of exciting theatre events and productions. Highlights have included: Myths and Legends – University of Bedfordshire Theatre, How to Make a Hero – Royal Albert Hall, 20@02 – The O2 Arena, Special Measures – Theatre Royal Drury Lane, After Forever After – The Gordon Craig Theatre and many more.

Meet Geraldine Hyman, your Centre Director
Geraldine has a BA(Hons) in Popular Music and Technology and while at university she specialised in singing. From there she went on to teach singing both privately and with Theatretrain for over 5 years before becoming Centre Director of Theatretrain Camden in 2009. She took over Theatretrain Hitchin in 2016 and opened Theatretrain Stevenage in 2018. During this time she has lead her students in 7 local shows and 6 large scale shows.
Robert has worked with Theatretrain for over 20 years as the Musical Director. He has co-created all Theatretrain’s large scale productions. He is a Conductor, Composer and Arranger of note with over thirty scores to his credit. Other credits include: ‘The Big Life’ at the Apollo, Shaftesbury Avenue ‘Reasons to Be Cheerful’ (performed at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Opening ceremony 2012) and ‘Come Dancing’, (written by and starring former Kinks front-man Ray Davies).
Chakira has a BA(honours) in dance and professional practice from the university of Bedfordshire. In her 2nd year she focused on teaching and community practice.
Since graduating she has been teaching and loves it.
Her aim is to inspire young dancers and give them confidence in life whilst having fun.
Nisha has trained for 15 years with a range of theatre schools and dance groups, having studied street dance, contemporary, ballet, musical theatre and drama. She holds a BA (hons) degree in Performing Arts from University of Bedfordshire and the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Her performance credits include the West End, Cultural Olympiad and various television appearances, and she has been teaching dance for over 9 years
Hayley has a MA in Performing Arts:Creative Practice and Leadership as well as a BA (Hons) in Theatre And Professional Practice. She has worked for several drama schools including Up-Stage Theatre Company, University of Bedfordshire National Collaborative Outreach Programme and the Novus Theatre Company. She has performed as US Festival, Bedfringe Festival and co-creator and set designer for #WebLies2k17.
Scott believes that it is very important to learn all these skills from a young age. He started out in a local theatre company since the age of 8 and has performed in a variety of different productions with numerous companies. He has trained at Emil Dale Academy and is now excited to teach the students at Theatretrain.
Musical Theatre Teacher
Eleanor has been performing since the age of two specialising in musical theatre and is now in the midst of her degree at a leading UK drama school. She has a diploma in Musical theatre singing through the London College of Music as well as an ISTD Intermediate Modern dance qualification. Eleanor has been teaching at various schools around the country for the last two years and has such a passion for spreading her joy of performing arts
Laura trained in IDTA dance since the early age of three at Constance Grant Dance Centre studying Tap, Ballet, Modern, Freestyle and Theatre Craft and had a love and passion for Musical Theatre since that time. She also joined amateur theatre group and had regular singing lessons. She gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Musical Theatre at Bucks New University in 2012 and been working as a Dance/Musical Theatre teacher ever since. She loves nothing more than seeing the children she teaches having fun and watching their confidence grow. She has been involved in putting together numerous shows that the children have taken part in and attended many festivals and competitions.

6-8yrs Assistant Teacher
Jessie has had a passion for Music and Theatre since she was young and has performed in many plays, productions and full scale musicals. She also loves playing guitar and piano, busking and singing at events in her hometown Norwich. She has an Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre and is currently studying on the Degree Course at Emil Dale Academy.
